Job Description

The Corporate Affairs and Marketing Officer is responsible for managing the bank’s public image, communication strategy, stakeholder engagement, and marketing initiatives. This role supports the achievement of business goals by enhancing brand visibility, ensuring consistent communication, maintaining regulatory and public relationships, and executing effective marketing and PR campaigns. The officer also monitors media, coordinates CSR activities, and ensures alignment with both regulatory frameworks and the bank’s strategic direction.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies that reinforce the bank’s image and values and review and vet all external communication materials—including press releases, public notices, advertisements, speeches and digital content—before recommending them for approval and public dissemination.
• Serve as liaison with media houses and handle all media inquiries, interviews, and public statements.
• Promote, Monitor and manage social media, Website, media coverage and manage reputation risk through proactive and reactive communications, including during crises.
• Ensure the bank’s brand identity is consistently applied across all customer touchpoints, including
• Conduct periodic brand audits and recommend enhancements to visual and messaging consistency
• Design and deliver strategic marketing campaigns to promote the bank’s products, services, and digital innovations
• Prepare marketing content, promotional materials, and manage ATL/BTL initiatives (e.g., media buying, billboards, in-branch displays).
• Plan and execute CSR programs that support the bank’s community impact and sustainability agenda
• Organize high-quality internal and external events, such as product launches, financial literacy campaigns, and public awareness forums
• Oversee sponsorship opportunities and ensure strategic alignment with the bank’s brand and business goals
• Conduct market intelligence and competitor benchmarking on branding, communication strategies, and customer trends
• Responsible for product development
• To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate or professional certification (e.g., CIM, Digital Marketing, PR/Media Relations) is an added advantage.
• 3–5 years of experience in a communications or marketing role within the banking or financial services sector.
• Familiarity with Tanzanian media and regulatory environment (e.g., BOT, TCRA, TRA, etc.).
• Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social media analytics, and Google Workspace.
